Amber Valletta began modeling on weekends at age 15. Her career didn't take off until she made a few trips to Europe and cropped her hair short. Before taking up modelling, she had planned on becoming a sociologist or social worker. Amber Valletta was featured in Peter Lindbergh's book 10 Women. Early in 1996 she and Shalom Harlow took over the MTV House of Style from Cindy Crawford, but were dropped at the end of the season. Amber was a spokesperson for Breast Cancer Awareness in 1996.
